Lynn Peters accepted the call to Burkina Faso, West Africa in June of 2003. Prior to the big move to Africa, she was working as District Manager for a large child care company. Lynn is from St. Louis, MO and comes from a family of 8 children. She has a B.S. in Child Development and an M.A. in Education Administration. "I believe during those first 4 years, the Lord had me in training - I began to learn the culture and their system of education, to understand the needs and experience their struggles, to try to understand where they've come from, their faith, their beliefs, their customs." Early 2007, the Lord began to put Burkina Faso Outreach on Lynn's heart - a vision to share the gospel and the love of Christ through schools and educational programs as well as a Child Sponsorship Program to meet the needs of the whole child. Food and medical assistance programs to aid others in the community are also a necessary part of the work. Lynn will be partnering with an international Christian missions organization called SIM (Serving In Missions). SIM is well established in Burkina Faso and also has a vision for evangelization through education. STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Bible to
be the absolute authority and truth inspired by God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe in one God,
existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the blessed
trinity. (John 10:30; John 14:26; Phillipians
2:5-7; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
We believe in the salvation
of sinners by grace through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord who died for our
sins, was buried and rose again the third day.
(Eph 2:8-9; Rom 3:24; Rom
10:9-10)
We believe in Jesus
Christ, fully God and fully man, who is born of a virgin, died on the
cross, rose from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of the Father
making intercession for all the saints. (Matt 1:18-25;
Matt 28:5-7; Is 53:4-6; Heb 9:24; Rom
8:34)
We believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ to rule and reign over everything
new. All those who have accepted Him as
Savior will spend eternity in fellowship with God in heaven. (John 14:1-3; 2 Thes 1:8-10; Phil 3:17-21)
We believe His Church,
under Jesus Christ as Lord, to be a gathering of those born of the Spirit,
called together to worship, pray, fellowship, learn more of God’s word,
proclaim the Gospel, and celebrate baptism and communion. (1 Cor 12:12-13,
27; Eph 4:15-16; Ps 107:32)
