Salfo was about 7 years old at the time of our visit.He is not in school.Salfo was living in the Ivory Coast with his
parents; but his father got sick (most likely AIDS) and brought Salfo to be
raised by his Aunt an Uncle when he was 3 months old.Both parents are gone.His Aunt and Uncle had 6 children.Two of them have died, 3 are living elsewhere
and 1 is still with them.There is also
a daughter-in-law and her baby living with them.
Salfo lives in a village called Tansogho.There are 7 women and 3 men in the courtyard
along with several children.His Aunt
and Uncle cultivate a field of millet together.They have no animals.His Aunt
says she is not well but it was difficult to understand the problem.
Their courtyard is nice, but they live in a very small mud
hut.All were in good health.With a sponsor, we may be able to get Salfo
admitted to school.
