Celine is 14 years old as of January 2008.Celine is one of six children. Her father is
mentally ill and incapable of helping support the family.Therefore, her mother is raising the children
on her own.One child is living with a
grandfather to help ease the burden.
Celine and her mother are able to cultivate a small field of
millet for the family. The other children are still too young to help.They have no other work or source of income.
This family lives in a small village called Laadre. They
have no electricity. They have two chickens. Their water source is a nearby
well.
Celine is in her 6th year of school.Her mother somehow manages to pay her school
fees, but a sponsor would be a tremendous help.
