Isaac was about 13 years of age at the time of our visit in July 2008. He is the oldest of 4 children. No one knows the whereabouts of his father. He left the family when Mom was pregnant with the youngest 2 years ago and hasn’t been heard from since.  : : This Child's Story...

Emil was 12 years old as of January 2008. His father died in 1998. Apparently he was mentally ill and somehow died in a fire. He left his wife and 2 children, Emil and a younger sister. His mother is also caring for two other children who are older.  : : This Child's Story...

Celine is 14 years old as of January 2008. Celine is one of six children. Her father is mentally ill and incapable of helping support the family. Therefore, her mother is raising the children on her own. One child is living with a grandfather to help e  : : This Child's Story...

Lassine is about 7 years old as of August 2008. His father died early this year from an unknown illness. His mother died soon after – they say she went to the capital city for treatment because of a swelled foot and died. Lassine is now being raised by  : : This Child's Story...

Roland was 6 years of age at the time of our visit in November 2008. Her father died several years ago from diabetes, leaving his wife and 5 children. One child is handicapped and being raised by an Aunt. Roland and her siblings are still with their mo  : : This Child's Story...

alguissa was about 2.5 years old as of June 2008. She is being raised by her young grandmother. Her mother died just after her birth. Her father (grandma’s son) is living in another city and apparently is irresponsible.  : : This Child's Story...

Balguissa was about 12 at the time of our visit in Aug 2008. Her father died earlier this year from an unknown illness, leaving Balguissa with her mother and 4 siblings. The youngest of the siblings is 3 months old.  : : This Child's Story...
